Shirel Golan Nova Suicide: 22-year-old Israeli/Hamas survivor, Shirel Golan dies by suicide
A 22-year-old woman, Shirel Golan who survived the October 7, 2023, Hamas massacre at the Supernova music festival outside Kibbutz Re’im has committed suicide in her home after developing post-traumatic stress disorder.
According to a source in Hebrew media, her brother Eyal was quoted as saying, “I noticed that she displayed signs of PTSD, like withdrawing from her friends and separating herself from them.” I asked her not to disregard her own health. She stated that the state did not provide her with any assistance.
According to her, the only group that helps her is the [Tribe of Nova Community Association].
Shirel Golan, who turned 22 today, has been hospitalized twice and has experienced post-traumatic symptoms since she managed to flee the terror attack, according to her family. Among these symptoms are withdrawal and disassociation.
He contends that “none of this would have happened if the state had taken care of her.”
The Welfare and Social Services Ministry published a rebuttal of the family’s claims, stating that Golan was “recognized and treated in the welfare system even before October 7 and especially after.” Both Ynet News and Israel Hayom reported this denial.
