Randy McGuire Accident North Carolina: 57-year-old Hudson man fatally struck by car in Caldwell County

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol reports that on Sunday, October 20, a vehicle in Caldwell County struck and killed a pedestrian.

The victim was identified as Randy McGuire, 57, of Hudson; no charges have been brought forward at the time of the publication of this article. Around 9 p.m., a collision occurred on US 321 close to Mission Road.

According to troopers, McGuire was struck by a car heading south on the interstate when he was wearing dark clothing and strolling along the dark lane. The driver was unharmed, and McGuire was declared dead at the site.

Speed and impairment were not identified as relevant factors in the inquiry.

Hudson is a town in Caldwell County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 3,776 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Hickory–Lenoir–Morganton Metropolitan Statistical Area.
