Lewis Parkin Obituary-Death News; 23-year-old died in Adelaide’s CBD stabbing, St Marys man charged with murder

A man has been charged with murder after he reportedly fatally stabbed another man in central Adelaide.

Just before 8 p.m. on Friday, police say they were called to claims that a 23-year-old male had been stabbed at an apartment building on Hindley St. in the Adelaide central business district.

After being discovered with potentially fatal injuries, the victim—later identified as Lewis Parkin—was taken to the hospital. Soon after, he passed away.

When police arrived, the 42-year-old suspect from St. Marys had already left, but he was apprehended soon after along the River Torrens. He was denied bail after being charged with murder.

According to the police, the two males may have known one another, and the occurrence was not random. A group of people got into a fight before the event, according to sources in the local media.

Officers were sent to the Wakanda Place Multicultural Bar, which is located close to Hindley Street in the western part of the city. The purported stabbing, however, is believed to have occurred on the street rather than at a location.

According to a witness, clients at several locations along the strip were kept indoors for around half an hour, and he observed police officers with guns roaming outside from a nearby venue.

In addition, the witness reported seeing “emergency crews trying to resuscitate a guy” while there was yelling on the street, but the victim didn’t seem to be reacting. On Monday, the 42-year-old defendant is scheduled to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court.
