Jermaine Taylor Death News; Cleveland Man Died On Okalona Road, November 3rd – GoFundMe

South Euclid Police have made two arrests following two shootings that occurred within 10 minutes of each other on Sunday, leaving one man dead and another injured.

The first incident took place at 12:33 p.m. on Okalona Road, where 31-year-old Jermaine Taylor sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, where he later died.

His death has been classified as a suspected homicide by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner. Police arrested a 30-year-old Cleveland man at the scene and recovered a firearm, though charges have not yet been filed pending further investigation.

The second shooting was reported at 12:42 p.m. on Salisbury Road, roughly 2.5 miles from the first. Officers found 43-year-old David Welch Sr., who had been shot at least once. Welch was hospitalized, underwent surgery, and is currently in stable condition.

Police took another man into custody from this scene, seizing a firearm believed to have been used in the altercation, which police say stemmed from a dispute between familiar parties.

“I can’t stop thinking and imagining ways I could’ve helped him. I just want to be able to say goodbye and give him a kiss on his forehead. I really do appreciate anything that you guys give me. I know this isn’t your issue, and I’m so sorry to even ask for help, but I need this closure.”
