Daniel Hoh Obituary-Death News; A Writer And Producer For Station19, Daniel Hoh Passes Away

Daniel Hoh, a writer and producer for Station 19, passed away on October 11, 2024, at the age of 45 after a battle with multiple myeloma.

Hoh, who was born in Potomac, Maryland, and trained as a physician, made a unique transition from medicine to writing.

He began his writing career after joining the CBS Diversity Writing Program and worked as a writer for Pure Genius in 2016. In 2020, he joined the ABC drama Station 19, where he contributed to 41 episodes and eventually became a producer in the final season.

In addition to his writing career, Hoh worked as an ER physician at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and was deeply involved in humanitarian efforts, particularly against human trafficking. He also campaigned for international human rights with his wife, Deborah.

Hoh’s death prompted an outpouring of grief from Station 19 fans and colleagues, including cast members like Jaina Lee Ortiz, who praised his heartfelt writing. Hoh had been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a condition that ultimately led to his passing.

His journey into television writing was unconventional—he initially worked as an ER doctor before taking courses at UCLA and honing his writing skills on the side. Over time, his passion for storytelling led to his break in the industry, and he hoped to one day create his own shows.
