Coventry House Fire: 2 Killed In Horror Early Hours Blaze At Home

Two people have tragically died in a house fire in Coventry in the early hours of Friday morning. The devastating blaze occurred at a first-floor maisonette flat on The Coppice in the Stoke Aldermoor area. Firefighters and emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 4.40am, with the first fire engine arriving within just four minutes.

Despite the swift response from multiple fire crews, including teams from Coventry, Binley, Foleshill, and Canley, the fire had already caused significant damage to the property.

West Midlands Fire Service described the blaze as “severe,” with the fire affecting the entire property. Firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus for safety, bravely entered the building but were unable to save two individuals who were found dead inside. The fire was fully extinguished by 5.55am, but the cause remains under investigation.

Police have confirmed the deaths of two people at the scene and are now working to identify them. A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said they were liaising closely with fire investigators to determine the cause of the fire.

The investigation involves three Fire Investigation Officers and a specially trained fire investigation dog. Police have appealed for information from the public and are urging anyone who may have relevant details to come forward.
