Christa Bauer Gilley Obituary Houston, Texas: Man charged after killing pregnant wife and framed death as suicide

According to police and media sources, a Texas man killed his pregnant wife and then attempted to persuade investigators that she had committed herself.
According to the report, on October 7, Lee Mongerson Gilley, 38, called 911 and informed the dispatcher that he had discovered his wife, Christa Gilley, motionless in bed at their Houston home. He said she had overdosed on purpose and told the caller he did CPR to save her life.
According to authorities, Christa Gilley was declared dead at the hospital after being taken to the residence on Houston’s northwest side, where Lee Gilley and her two kids were discovered.
Houston police stated in a news release on October 12 that although Lee Gilley maintained his wife committed suicide, her injuries suggested otherwise.
According to hospital workers, Ms. Gilley appeared to have suffered facial damage and bruises, according to authorities. She was slain, “and the cause due to compression of the neck,” according to the postmortem results. She revealed to investigators that she was eight weeks pregnant. Lee Gilley said in an interview with investigators that his wife was not suicidal or a drug user.
Prior to Christa Gilley’s death, the couple had been fighting, according to police reports. Lee Gilley was taken into custody on October 11th, according to the police. According to court documents, his bond has been refused.
