Chaianti Means Obituary-Death News; 33 Years-Old Mother And Two Young Children Passes Away After Jumping Over Niagara Falls
According to New York State Police, a mother and two little children died after they reportedly climbed over a guardrail and into the Niagara Falls State Park falls.
According to a statement released by the State Police on Wednesday, officers were called to an incident that occurred on Luna Island at approximately 9 p.m. on Monday, right next to Goat Island, which is home to the well-known Cave of the Winds.
According to authorities, Chaianti Means, 33, and her two kids, Mecca Means, 5, and Roman Rossman, 9, climbed over the safety railing and over the falls. Authorities said that this was deliberate and that the family did not “stumble in,” however they are still looking into the specifics of how it happened.
However, authorities say they might never learn more than what they currently know.
“Now, what were the real conditions that led to that outcome? We may be aware of that aspect, but the truth is that we don’t think any other parties are engaged,” stated New York State Trooper James O’Callaghan. “Those three victims, those three people, are all we are discussing.”
This is not a criminal inquiry at this time, and no arrests have been made. The family has cooperated with this process, according to the police, and they are now concentrating on attempting to bring them closure.
Because of this, rescue crews are still working to find the family in those waters. However, they haven’t had any luck after 48 hours.
The inquiry is being supported by the Niagara Falls Police Department, New York State Park Police, Aviation, Underwater Recovery Unit, and NYSP Unmanned Aircraft Systems.
