Carlos Diaz Jr Obituary-Death News; Man Passes Away In Geneva Crash after Being Thrown From Truck, Police Report
An Aurora man tragically lost his life early Sunday morning after being ejected from his truck in a crash in Geneva, according to police. The incident took place at approximately 4:54 a.m. when a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado, traveling westbound on Fabyan Parkway, veered across the eastbound lanes, left the road, and ultimately came to a stop near the Fox River bridge.
When authorities arrived at the scene, they found the truck on the south side of the bridge embankment. The driver, later identified as 31-year-old Carlos Diaz Jr. from Aurora, had been ejected from the vehicle during the crash. Despite efforts, Diaz was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police revealed that the truck’s airbags did not deploy at the time of the crash, and it was also noted that Diaz was not wearing a seatbelt when the accident occurred. There were no other passengers in the truck, and no additional injuries were reported.
To allow for the investigation, Geneva police temporarily closed the bridge. It was reopened around 9 a.m. after officers completed their work at the scene.
The Kane County Coroner’s Office is set to perform an autopsy on Diaz’s body, and the investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing.
