Nick Restifo Cause of Death Cleveland, Ohio: In loving memory of longtime Saint Ignatius High School teacher & coach Nick Restifo

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Mr. Nick Restifo, Hon. ’19, Saint Ignatius High School announced via a statement shared on Facebook on Sunday, October 20, 2024.

Mr. Restifo was a beloved Spanish teacher and longtime football coach. His impact on the school community, both in the classroom and on the field, will be remembered forever. Coach Restifo’s passion, dedication, and mentorship touched countless lives.

This was Nick’s 44th year on faculty at Saint Ignatius, and over 50 in total.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.”

The announcement of Mr. Restifo’s death was flooded by heartfelt tributes and condolences across social media. He will be sorely missed by family, friends and many who knew him.

“Finding about the passing of Nick Restifo certainly came as a shock, but God wanted him and his room was ready, so He quietly took him, leaving so many so very sad. There’s no doubt where this man of great faith is right now,” a Facebook post said.

“We lost the patriarch of the family yesterday. Holidays will definitely not be the same without Uncle Nick. He valued traditions and loved his entire family so much. He loved my boys so much,” another post said.
