Josephine “Jo Jo” Dullard Death News; Man Arrested In Connection With Murder Of Jo Jo Dullard

A man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of Josephine “Jo Jo” Dullard, who disappeared nearly 29 years ago, on November 9, 1995. Gardaí confirmed the arrest on Saturday, which marked the anniversary of her disappearance.

The suspect, a man in his 50s, is currently being detained at a Garda station in County Kildare under the provisions of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. The investigation, which initially began as a missing person case, was upgraded to a murder inquiry in November 2020, after years of unanswered questions.

Josephine Dullard was just 21 years old when she vanished. On the night of her disappearance, she had been socializing in Dublin before missing her last bus home to Kilkenny. She caught a bus to Naas, County Kildare, and intended to hitchhike the rest of the way.

After reaching the M9 motorway at Kilcullen, she received a lift to Moone, another town in the county. At 11:37 PM, she made a final phone call from a phone box to her friend Mary Cullinan, during which she mentioned that she had gotten into a car and was continuing her journey. After this call, Josephine was never heard from again.

Despite numerous appeals and extensive investigations over the years, the circumstances of her disappearance remained unclear until the recent developments.

Gardaí have renewed their calls for information from the public, particularly from anyone who may have been in the Moone area that night or who might have seen anything suspicious. This arrest offers a glimmer of hope that, after almost three decades, justice may finally be within reach for Jo Jo Dullard and her family.
