Terry N. Griggs Obituary-Death News; In Loving Memory Of Terry N. Griggs

Terry Neal Griggs, fondly known as “Cooter” to his friends from Emerson Electric and “Pappy” to others, passed away peacefully at his home in Elkton on Monday, November 4, 2024, at the age of 68.

His passing marks the end of a life dedicated to family, work, and the simple joys of the outdoors. Mr. Griggs was born on October 1, 1956, in Elkton, Kentucky, to Melvin Joshua “Short” Griggs and Mary Elizabeth Johnson Griggs. A 1975 graduate of Todd Central High School, he spent 42 years working at Emerson Electric before retiring.

Known for his unwavering work ethic, he also served as a Court Security Officer at the Todd County Justice Center with the Todd County Sheriff Department. A man of Baptist faith, Terry Griggs cherished spending time outdoors.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman who found solace in nature. He enjoyed working on and restoring old farm equipment, a hobby that brought him pride and satisfaction. A passionate supporter of the UK Wildcats, Terry rarely missed an opportunity to cheer for his team. He was also known for his deep love for his grandchildren and the companionship of his beloved dogs: Bandit, Mocha, and Macie.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brothers, Charles “Woody” Griggs and Melvin “Junior” Griggs, and his sisters, Leona Griggs and Helen Williams. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories among family and friends.

Services for Mr. Griggs will be held at Latham Funeral Home on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Bro. Stan Williams and Bro. Larry Cardwell. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Elkton.
