Patrick Peko has sadly passed away. He died after falling from a fire escape in Williamsburg, Brooklyn leaving those who knew him devastated on Sunday 3rd November 2024.
The fatal incident occurred at approximately 12:35 p.m. on Sunday, near the intersection of South 6th Street and Bedford Avenue. Authorities confirmed that the 24-year-old man was found unconscious and unresponsive after plummeting from the three-story apartment building.
The fall occurred in close proximity to the marathon route, which snakes through various Brooklyn neighborhoods before heading toward Manhattan. Although it remains unclear whether the victim was watching the marathon or engaged in another activity when he fell.
Emergency responders arrived shortly after receiving a 911 call, and officers discovered the young man on the ground below the fire escape, showing injuries consistent with a fall from height. Paramedics quickly transported him to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The cause of the fall remains under investigation by the New York Police Department (NYPD).
