Award-winning CBS and KCAL News Anchor Chauncy Glover of Los Angeles, California has sadly passed away. He died after being involved in a tragic accident.
He was confirmed dead through a Facebook post that reads “Just heard on KCAL News, Chauncy Glover died. My condolences to Mr Glover’s family and friends. He was a truly good Reporter and a good man.”

The three-time Emmy Award-winning journalist joined KCAL News in October 2023, where he co-anchors the 5 and 11 p.m. newscasts alongside Pat Harvey on KCBS and KCAL. He also delivers the news with Suzie Suh during the 8 and 10 p.m. newscasts on KCAL. But Glover’s impact goes far beyond the news desk—his story is one of determination, compassion, and a relentless drive to make the world a better place.
Glover’s roots trace back to the small town of Athens, Alabama, where he was born and raised. It was in this close-knit community that his passion for storytelling first took root.
At the age of 5, Glover’s father built him his very own mini “anchor desk,” inspiring the young boy to put on newscasts for his family every Sunday after church. What began as a childhood hobby soon became a lifelong dream, propelling Glover into the world of journalism.
He went on to study Broadcast Journalism, Music, and Theatre at Troy University, earning a degree in Public Relations along the way. Glover’s TV career began two days after his college graduation at WTVM News Leader 9 in Columbus, Georgia.
His career quickly took off, and two years later, he joined CBS 47 and Fox 30 in Jacksonville, Florida, as a Special Projects and General Assignment reporter.
In 2011, Glover took a bold step, leaving Florida’s sunny beaches for the colder winters of Detroit, Michigan. He joined WDIV Local 4 News, where he quickly rose through the ranks to become the lead late-night reporter.
During his time in Detroit, Glover covered several high-profile stories, including the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in Newtown, Connecticut, where he landed an exclusive interview with a teacher who was in the classroom next door during the tragedy.
After moving to Houston in 2015, Glover brought his mentoring program with him, expanding its reach and impact in the community. The program continues to thrive in Houston, even as Glover has relocated to the West Coast to join KCAL News. Throughout his career, Chauncy Glover has received numerous accolades for his journalism and community work.
He has won three Emmy Awards for his compelling storytelling, including his live coverage during Hurricane Harvey, where he helped rescue a woman in labor and assisted in delivering her baby.
